What is reciprocal link ?

A reciprocal link is a mutual link between two objects, commonly between two websites to ensure mutual traffic. For example, Alice and Bob have websites. If Bob's website links to Alice's website, and Alice's website links to Bob's website, the websites are reciprocally linked.

Website owners often submit their sites to reciprocal link exchange directories, in order to achieve higher rankings in the search engines. Reciprocal linking between websites is an important part of the search engine optimization process because Google uses link popularity algorithms (defined as the number of links that lead to a particular page and the anchor text of the link) to rank websites for relevancy.

Reciprocal link is just a mutual link between two sites for traffic and backlink interests. Common links are coming out from two websites. They are just for ensuring traffic.

The agreement is a mutual contact in the two webmasters to provide a hyperlink to their website to other websites. In general, this is to provide the reader quick access to relevant websites, or show the partnership between the two sites.

You might provide a link to Site X on your links page provided Site X has a link back to you. This is called reciprocal link.

Putting your site link to my site and similarly putting my site link to your site is simply known as reciprocal Link. It is one of the mutual method of earning traffic.

A reciprocal link is an agreement between two webmasters to provide a hyperlink within their own website to each other's web site. Generally this is done to provide readers with quick access to related sites.
